WorkSafe delivers practical Manual Handling training for Irish employers, staff and groups who lift, carry, push or pull loads at work.
Manual Handling training helps workers understand safe lifting principles, avoid unnecessary strain, assess loads before moving them and use practical techniques that reduce injury risk. The training is relevant to any employee who lifts, lowers, pushes, pulls, carries or supports a load during work.
WorkSafe's course is designed for real workplaces, not generic theory. Employers can use it for new starters, refresher training, compliance records and team-wide risk reduction. It links naturally with SOLAS Safe Pass for construction teams, First Aid Responder for workplace emergency cover, and WorkSafe's booking team for group quotes.
Employers must provide appropriate instruction and training where staff carry out manual handling tasks. The course helps businesses meet that duty and reduce injury risk.
Most Manual Handling courses are completed in a half day, including practical demonstration and assessment.
Anyone who lifts, lowers, pushes, pulls, carries or supports loads at work should complete suitable Manual Handling training.
Yes. WorkSafe can deliver on-site Manual Handling training for employer groups, subject to group size, location and availability.
