Course: First Aid Responder

(Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council)

Duration: 3 Days (options for 3 consecutive days or 3 dates spread over 3 weeks)

First Aid Response (previously known as Occupational First Aid)  is a comprehensive 3-day Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) accredited course which covers all the essential aspects of first aid for the workplace. This is the course required to meet the standard for First Aid in the workplace in Ireland which is recognised by the Health and Safety Authority (HSA).

As of the 1st of June 2018, the Health & Safety Authority will only recognise First Aid Response for newly qualified First Aiders in the workplace. All First Aid personnel who previously held Occupational First Aid Certification up to the 31st of May 2018 will refresh to the First Aid Response standard when their certificate is due to expire or during the period of their certification.

This course is set to the requirements of the Health & Safety Authority – HSA, Guidelines on First Aid at Places of Work May 2008. As required by The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007 to 2021.

This is the required course by the HSA for First Aid in the workplace in Ireland.
